For every life there’s a story worth saving.

And now, you can help.

Last week the Dane County Cultural Affairs Commission announced the debut of Power2Give.org, an online fundraising platform to support cultural projects in Dane County.

Among the projects listed there you’ll find “Start Writing Your Memoir workshop with Sarah White.” I am seeking donations to fund the volunteer work I do, presenting workshops at the Goodman South Madison Branch Library. (Read more about my workshops here.)

My workshops in South Madison draw an unusually diverse group of writers, many without the resources to pay for instruction. Your donation  through Power2Give will underwrite seats in the workshop and help fund a public “story share” event at the conclusion of this fall’s workshop.

Please help me continue to serve these talented writers, some of whose work you can read here on True Stories Well Told. Click here to go to the project listing on Power2Give.

During Power2Give’s launch, to sweeten the deal, community supporters are partially matching individual donors. For every $1 you give right now, my project will receive $1.50. Please visit “Start Writing Your Memoir workshop with Sarah White” and make a contribution.

Week by week and word by word, members of our community experience the power of true stories well told. Won’t you help?

About first person productions

My blog "True Stories Well Told" is a place for people who read and write about real life. I’ve been leading life writing groups since 2004. I teach, coach memoir writers 1:1, and help people publish and share their life stories.
