Good post on writing in scenes

“The Yellow Test” by Lee Gutkind caught my attention when APH member Lettice Stuart posted about it on our association’s listserv today.

Why? Because he’s talking about writing in scenes.

If you’ve taken any of my writing classes since I fell under the spell of Jon Franklin’s Writing for Story, you know how thoroughly I’ve been converted to the faith that scenes are the power behind compelling storytelling.

You’ll want to read “The Yellow Test.”  And, if you can get over your inhibitions about (gasp) defacing books, try it.

I will–let’s compare notes.

    Dear Sarah

Thank you very much for this post. Mad about Lee Gutkind. I am doing a Masters Nonfiction Writing. Lee was here speaking in Sydney this week.

    Gratitude. Warmly, Lana
