Fall 2013 Workshops and More!

Something new for memoir writers in the Madison area!

I am shifting the focus of my multi-session workshops to beginning memoirists. Participants will be welcome to repeat the workshop up to three times, then “graduate” to a monthly salon open to Madison-area writers of autobiographical nonfiction.

“First Monday, First Person” – A Memoir Writers’ Monthly Salon

South Madison Branch Library, 2222 S Park St, Madison, WI

Mondays 6pm – 7:45pm

Join us for our launch on  October 7,  and mark your calendars for November 4 and December 2. We will meet on the first Monday of the month through 2014 except for Monday holidays.

Share and critique writing in the first person with like-minded people. Sign up on arrival to read on a first-come, first-served basis, and receive group feedback. No smut. Listeners welcome as well as readers. Free.

See my upcoming workshop schedule here for information on upcoming talks and multi-session beginners’ workshops.

All Fall 2013 offerings are free, thanks to underwriting by the libraries. Please thank your librarian early and often!

About first person productions

My blog "True Stories Well Told" is a place for people who read and write about real life. I’ve been leading life writing groups since 2004. I teach, coach memoir writers 1:1, and help people publish and share their life stories.

  1. I’m getting questions about whether you need to register for the Salon. No need–it’s drop-in. Sign up to read on first-come, first-served basis.
